Saturday is a fun day!
Plan on arriving no later than 9:30 a.m. to start bailing out your boat, earlier if you want to practice rowing!
Each boater will need an appropriate life jacket (one per person). For adult boating, you need a USCG-approved life jacket properly fitted to your weight and chest size, and a Type IV Throwable Flotation Device, a USCG-approved emergency device designed to be thrown to a person in the water. Many models do double duty as comfortable, extra seat cushions, and they typically cost between $15 and $30.
For more information, see the FAQ page!
Once your boat has been bailed out and your crew is ready to go, the horn will sound, and you are off to the races!
Don't forget your sunscreen and a hat, and make sure you drink plenty of water!
Immedately after the race, all hands are on deck for the awards ceremony, and then each family will carry their boat (with help, so please stick around) up to the boat house, where family pictures will be taken.
All boats will be loaded on trailers and trucks, goodbyes will be shared, and another successful Family Boat Building Week will come to an end!
The boats are in the water!
Dad and family hard at work!
