Safety On The Water

Personal flotation devices (life jackets) are a must when boating. Each state has its own rules and regulations, as does the U.S. Coast Guard.

In Virginia, we follow the guidelines set forth by the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources.

Because the Deltaville Maritime Museum values your safety, all boaters on Saturday must wear life jackets, and you must have a throwable device on board.

In additional to personal floation devices, don't forget a hat and sunscreen, and make sure you drink lots of water!
